Pharmacist 2 years ago Spam Well, I wouldn't exactly use it (I even if was in stock - there are a lot of good things to be said for using ibuprofen by default!) There is no indication that codeine addictive (or at least a "drug of abuse" in general), it is just very common.
And, as I said several times before, it is NOT a narcotic so there is no reason to "treat" it with ANYTHING when you have a valid prescription.
I wouldn't even consider using it if its in stock - and no, no one is going to come over your house and demand an ibuprofen for their pain.
All of this has nothing to do with the fact that it is "narcotic" - a completely different Is citalopram generic for xanax issue.
But, just as I didn't think of that earlier, now I do see it and feel really dumb - so sorry.

This article in the Journal of Pharmacology was, I think, in reference to codeine/opium being found in cough syrups and medicines sold in Canada - a situation that seems to be changing rather rapidly according to a comment in the BMJ:
